About Me
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who supports individuals and families in navigating life’s challenges with compassion and clarity. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself, your child or teen, or as a family, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where all parts of you are welcome. I work with youth, adults, and families from diverse cultural, spiritual, and gender identities, and I am committed to offering affirming and inclusive care.
I hold a Master of Arts in Theology – Spiritual Care & Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University, a multi-faith and inclusive program that emphasizes emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being. My work is rooted in evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy. I also integrate creative, expressive techniques such as art-inspired and narrative therapy to support emotional exploration and growth, especially for children and youth.
Clients often come to me seeking support for anxiety, self-esteem struggles, grief, school and social challenges, family tension, spiritual distress, or a general sense of feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I deeply believe in each person’s inherent capacity for healing and transformation. My role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, empathy, and practical tools—whether that means helping your teen manage school stress, supporting you through grief, or navigating family dynamics with more ease.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to the unique needs of each person and family I meet. Therapy with me is relational, respectful, and deeply grounded in the belief that meaningful change is possible. If you’re ready to begin, or even just explore what support could look like, I invite you to reach out. You don’t have to do this alone—healing is possible, and you deserve to feel supported along the way.
“I believe healing happens in safe, supportive relationships. My role as a therapist is to hold space for your story, help you reconnect with your strengths, and walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity, confidence, and connection.”
My Trainings
Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) – 2024
Nicole completed clinical training in Emotion Focused Family Therapy, an evidence-based model designed to support caregivers in becoming active agents in their loved one’s emotional healing. This approach integrates emotion coaching, behavioural support, and relationship repair strategies to strengthen family dynamics and promote resilience.
Compassionate Inquiry – 2025 (Self-Study Short Course)
Through a structured self-study course developed by Dr. Gabor Maté, Nicole explored the Compassionate Inquiry framework, which supports deeper awareness of unconscious patterns that influence behaviour, emotions, and relationships. This training emphasizes curiosity, compassion, and presence in uncovering the root of clients’ struggles.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) – 2023
Nicole completed this internationally recognized, evidence-based suicide prevention program to enhance her ability to recognize and respond to signs of suicide risk. The training emphasized practical tools, collaborative safety planning, and confidence in navigating conversations around suicide.
