Relational Attunement Therapy is An Approach Which Focuses On The Therapist Becoming As Connected As Possible With the Client. This Allows the Client to Feel Safe, Which Allows Them to Feel Held While Working Through Their Biggest Life Challenges.
Relational Attunement Therapy
Relational Attunement Therapy is a psychotherapeutic approach which focuses on the therapist being deeply connected and attuned to their clients. Relational Attunement Therapy gives therapists the tools they need to become fully present and aware of themselves, so that they can be fully present for clients.
Relational Attunement Therapy Gives Clients What They Need To Feel Safe
When Tori Hamilton began seeing clients as a nurse psychotherapist, she noticed that she was able to help clients release their burdens just by allowing her clients to lead the session. Her best therapy sessions were the ones she was fully authentic and connected. It became very clear that the therapist relationship was much more important than the actual interventions being used. Tori Hamilton has created this approach through her experiences as a therapist.
The Relational Attunement Therapy Program
No matter where you live, you can access the Relational Attuned Therapy Program in the comfort of your own home by becoming an online program participant. The Relational Attunement Therapy Program (RATP) is a year-long training program for psychotherapists, nurse psychotherapists, social workers, occupational therapists and other health professionals interested in developing skills for relational attunement. By program completion, the individual will have developed the ability to show up fully aware of themselves and able to stay present and connected with themselves and others.
Program Description
The Relational Attunement Therapy Program will prepare you to support your own healing and to become present to help others heal themselves. RATP provides a new approach to anyone who knows the importance of regulation and relationships. It centers on relational attunement, where we as humans stay fully present while loved ones and clients heal themselves with our relational attunement as a safe landing place. Our focus is on developing a relationship that is safe for anyone to share their struggles and challenges. When we feel safe, we have the best chance to heal and grow. This co-regulation is integral to everyone’s ability to learn how to self-regulate. When we learn how to self-regulate, we hold a much higher capacity for navigating stressful situations and become less stuck in our patterns that we can’t seem to shift out of. This program is highly intuitive, allowing us to become ourselves fully without needing to be something that we are not.
When Tori Hamilton developed this program, she focused on the client’s experiences rather than her own capacity as a therapist. This is because RATP is more about being human than it is about being an expert. She saw her clients are the experts of their own internal system and that we as humans are there to offer them safety and attunement so that they can become whole again.
When Tori Hamilton learned about relational attunement, she began to notice that her clients were able to become fully healed without having to fully witness all of their traumatic events in the past or having to become destabilized in their present lives. As long as the client was ready to release their burdens and move forward, she has been able to support them on their growth journey without having to let go of their capacity to function in their daily lives. This is very important because most trauma modalities available are very destabilizing and create a significant amount of harm to the client’s system. Without relational attunement with the therapist, the client cannot feel safe to share their story, and if they are capable of doing so, it can be profoundly beneficial to moving forward in their lives in a way that feels completely aligned, bringin a sense of peace with what they have lived through and what comes next for them in life. This program is not about fixing people or fixing the world. It isn’t, because the world and humanity do not need to be fixed. They need to be supported, and this is exactly what RATP is meant to do. Offer support that many of us didn’t get to receive as infants and that is why this is such a big problem in the world. It all comes back to our beginning, and once we release ourselves from the binds that hold us, we can start anew.
